Reappointment to Australia Council’s Dance Board
The Minister for the Arts and Sport, Senator Rod Kemp, today announced the re-appointment of Suzan Williams to the Australia Council’s Dance Board for a further two years.
“I would like to thank Ms Williams for agreeing to continue her work on the Australia Council’s Dance Board. I know her fellow Board Members have appreciated her commitment to the Board and are pleased to be working with her again,” Senator Kemp said.
As a talented dancer, teacher and choreographer, Ms Williams has worked as an independent artist and with companies including Darc Swan and Queensland Ballet.
Ms Williams ran her own company from 1994 to 2002, PointeBlank Productions, specialising in touring dance productions for young audiences across Australia.
“Ms William’s enthusiasm and energy have made a wonderful addition to the Dance Board”, Senator Kemp said.
“Ms Williams’ experience as a performer and choreographer provides invaluable experience to the Board, as well as an understanding of management and business practices through her roles as manager of PointeBlank Productions and Regional Touring Coordinator at Queensland Arts Council.” Senator Kemp said.
The Dance Board is responsible for supporting the development of Australian dance as a vibrant art form which is relevant and accessible to all communities.
The Australia Council is the Australian Government’s arts funding body. It encourages the creativity and development of Australian artists and aims to increase access by all Australians to arts and cultural activities.
