Council of the National Museum of Australia re-appointment

The Minister for the Arts and Sport, Senator Rod Kemp, today announced the re-appointment of Mr Benjamin Chow to the Council of the National Museum of Australia.

Mr Chow has previously served one three year term on the Council.

“The Council of the National Museum has benefited greatly from Mr Chow’s knowledge and expertise and I am pleased that he will continue to be on the Council of the National Museum,” Senator Kemp said.

“His ongoing participation will ensure the National Museum of Australia continues to grow as one of Australia’s most important national cultural institutions.”

Mr Chow is a civil engineer and the Managing Director of Sydney Subdivision Pty Ltd. He is past president of the Australian Chinese Community Association of New South Wales, the Chinese Australian Forum of New South Wales and is the Chair of the Council for Multicultural Australia. Mr Chow is also a Council Member of Bond University, Queensland, Director, Chain Reaction Foundation and an Advisory Council Member of the Asia Society, AustralAsia Centre.

The National Museum of Australia, funded by the Australian Government, celebrates Australian social history by telling the stories of ordinary and extraordinary Australians, promoting the exploration of knowledge and ideas and providing a dynamic forum for discussion and reflection.
