Responsibilities of the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts include the arts, culture and sport. The Department develops policy and administers programs which support the development of a rich and stimulating cultural sector for all Australians, a strong and internationally competitive Australian sports sector, and greater participation in sport by all Australians.
